I am what is known as a “late bloomer”. My art career, which was incubated as a child who loved to doodle and draw and seemed to have a natural ability, only came to fruition after college, marriage, and three children, I pursued countless crafts during this period before beginning art classes at the Wilson Community Park and at Wilson Tech followed by classes at The Arts council of Wilson and at Studio One. I was hooked and have enjoyed painting ever since—more than twenty years now.
Painting in both oils and acrylics, my favorite subjects are children. My portraits lean towards an informal impressionistic style in an attempt to reveal personality as well as beauty. My delight in the seashore creeps through on a regular basis too! I am so blessed to be able to pursue something I love and enjoy so much and at the same time, sharing a relationship with such a wonderful group of others doing the same thing here at Studio One in Wilson, North Carolina.
