Catherine (Cathy) Cleary

I hail from the Green Mountain State where I was raised. I attended a Private Catholic College, majoring in History. I love to travel and was lucky enough to live in Edinburgh , Nantucket , Boston and Atlanta before settling in Wilson.

Thanks to my hardworking spouse, Edward, I am able to pursue my artistic endeavors. We have an insightful, beautiful daughter, Ellen. Our family also includes two dogs and a turtle.

I like to think I make a positive impact on our community as a volunteer for Greenfield School , the Wilson County Medical Society Alliance, the Wilmed Healthcare Foundation and the Volunteer Action Center . I practice yoga in an effort to keep it all in balance.

Once I determined I could be an artist, yet still take showers and shave my legs, I joined one of Oona’s classes in early 2002, working primarily in oil on canvas. My work is representational, filled with color and texture. I have been a Resident Artist with Studio One since our doors opened in the Summer of 2005. In addition to private sales, my  work hangs in corporate offices including Merrill Lynch of Wilson , the Wilmed Imaging Center and The Planning Group in Raleigh .
