Dwight Mitchell
My name is Dwight
Mitchell. I’m a visual artist that enjoys the creation of beautiful
art. I work with the media of pencil, charcoal, pastel, water color and oil.
I find that each of the medium has its own characteristics. I paint
landscapes, still life, and portraits.
I have loved art all of my
life. I enjoy the development of the work as it comes to life before your
eyes. Painting is pleasing and relaxing. It gives you control of your
art. You are able to take any subject and turn it into something
interesting by your interpretation of it through your view and creation
of it. I find art as a way of expression. I enjoy going to my studio and
getting a blank canvas and painting a subject. The process of it starting
from a blank picture plane to becoming a fine work of art excites me.
My passion of art led me
to obtain a Bachelor Degree in Studio Art at Barton College. I’m an
artist of Studio One, member of FOVA of Barton College, Wilson Active
Artist. I instruct classes at Wilson Community College and Studio One. I
show my work at events, juried shows and take commissions.
Come visit my studio and
possibly you may find something you like. If not I can create it. After
all that’s part of what art is about, CREATION!!!
